• How It Works- Orkut Safety Filter works as per orkut user response ,all content along with communities ,topics ,events scraps and also profiles that are marked spam are removed from yours view whenever you search anything in orkut using orkut serach if you have selected donot show inappropriate content .Therefore it is responsible for orkut users also to keep orkut cleam via using orkut spam feature.
• How to On/Off Safety Filter - To On/Off Family Filter just go to orkut Setting and there in General Tab just below Birthday reminder You will find saftey filter option ,use that option according to your preference. ( this is really helpful in blocking all spam content like adult websites in forum and community topic etc )

What Orkut Says’s On Safety Filters - The safety filter lets users choose to show only profiles and communities that have been screened for potentially inappropriate images or text. By enabling the safety filter:

• Potentially offensive communities and profiles will be hidden from your search results.
• The pictures of potentially offensive profiles and communities will not shown in your community and friend lists - instead you will see a special icon.
• A warning message will be displayed before you access these profiles and communities.

If you'd like to enable the safety filter, just follow these steps:

1. Click settings on the left sidebar of your orkut profile or homepage.
2. On the general tab, find the 'safety filter' section.
3. Select the bubble next to 'do not show inappropriate content.'
4. Don't forget to click the save changes button at the bottom of the page when you're done.

HOW DOES THIS APPLICATION WORK?

HOW DOES THIS APPLICATION WORK?

The application has one profile username and password already hardcoded in the application which is this USER -> http://www.orkut.com/Profile.aspx?uid=1179136824477797609. So once you give your orkut Profile ID the application uses this orkut profile users username password to login and get your details through your profile ID (THIS IS POSSIBLE BECAUSE ORKUT IS A COMPLETELY OPEN SOCIAL NETWORK IF YOU HAVE A PROFILE ID AND YOU ARE A LOGGED IN USER YOU CAN SEE THE PERSONS COMPLETE PROFILE)

SO WHAT ALL CAN ONE DO WITH THIS ORKUT APPLICATION FROM WITHIN FACEBOOK??

ONLY VIEWING AND REPLYING SCRAPS - One can view ones scrap and reply to them. One can also view profiles of your friends that are the latest logged in users i.e. the one that show up on the profile home page.

LIMITATION OF THIS APPLICATION..

This application doesnt allow you to search friends or view all my friends from orkut. It also doesnt show my communities or friends who have requested friendship.

WHAT ARE THE MIND BOGGLING POSSIBILITIES WITH THIS APPLICATION???

YOU CAN ADD ANYONES PROFILE ID FROM ORKUT AND IMPERSONATE TO BE THAT PERSON AND SCRAP HIS OR HER FRIENDS!!!

Yes ill repeat that again.. You could type any orkut profile while adding this application of facebook and then when you post a scrap, it shows the scrap as posted by the person who’s orkut profile was being used.

This means anyone can post scrap impersonating anyone else!!!

NOW THERE IS A CATCH HERE.. THE SCRAPS ARE ACTUALLY SENT FROM THE FACEBOOK PROFILE ID THATS HARDCODED IN THE APPLICATION.. BUT WHAT THE APPLICATION SMARTLY DOES IS EMBEDS YOUR PROFILE PIC WITHIN THE SCRAP!! IT ALSO ADDS A DISCLAIMER MESSAGE - "This message was sent from Facebook. Note: This user was not logged in to Orkut while writing this scrap, hence his/her identity cannot be confirmed."

WHY ORKUT MIGHT GET VERY UPSET WITH THIS APPLICATION??

Well its simple this application takes users away from orkut (Also publicizes facebook) and also exposes orkut to huge amount of illegal impersonating scraps with could cause a lot of pain to unknown users who might not know about this application.

Installation package is near 8mb with offline installer and took only few seconds to get installed. The browser is appealing pretty good(looks) than Firefox browser and it created an LCD experience on my CRT monitor . As always found in a Google product, the user interface and navigation in chrome is better than any other browser . It is faster than internet explorer and can even compete with safari and opera for the same.


On launch chrome shows all history items just like opera speed dial .You can even search through your history through a small search box provided. Opening a new tab is a click away just like opera and book marking can be done easily with a control on left side of URL bar.

All other functions and menus are bridged into two controls on the extreme right . Well that makes the browser extremely clean and user friendly . By these features Chrome is going to be a real threat for Internet explorer and Opera. But i am sure that it will not (can't) stand with Firefox on the features , operating platforms ,security and addons it offers(Firefox 3.1 is going to be 7 time faster than version 3 ) . Anyways Google chrome will be my second choice if someone asks me to choose a better browser .
